Are You Doing These Things To Correct Your Dry, Tired Feet?

Foot care begins with nutrients, removal of toxins, and an infusion of moisture. If you are eating good, organic food and drinking plenty of water, doing regular foot massages will increase circulation which will increase the nutrients to you skin cells and will and aids in the removal of toxins.

Increased internal moisture is also a great benefit that your skin will get through a healthy diet, fluid intake, and regular foot massage.

You can examine and change your diet and fluid intake, and see a manicurist regularly to achieve these benefits or you can learn to pamper your feet at home. I do have to tell you that the good side to home massage is that you spend less money, but the bad side is that you do not receive the same relaxation that you would by visiting a manicurist. In order to do a proper foot massage, you will want a lotion or oil that can be warmed. Many times, you will find that warming in the microwave will work, but you should be very careful using this method. The emollient (lotion or oil) can get very hot very quickly in the microwave. It is better to find a product that is packaged in individual packets which are designed to be placed in a bowl of hot water to warm them. You can often find these for hair care and they are fine to use for your foot massage.

You will need a mild cleanser, a footbath full of warm water, a hand towel (you will get oil or lotion on this so do not choose that hand-embroidered towel that has been passed through generations), and the above-mentioned emollient that you can warm. The water in your footbath should be fairly warm but not hot. You want to help soften your skin to prepare it for the massage, but you do not want to strip natural oils from your skin. Make sure that you are wearing older, shorts or pants that you can roll (or otherwise fix) your sleeves up to your elbow.

First, rest both feet in the footbath, and let them soak until they begin to feel relaxed. You may choose to do the massage as part of a bath, which makes it easier to soak your feet and legs comfortably.

Second, smooth the warm oil (or warm lotion) all over both of your lower legs and feet from the knee to the tips of your nails, getting between each toe and along each nail.

Begin to massage by using your thumb and fingertips to gently rub small circles along the lower leg, starting at the knee and working all the way to the ankle. If you thumb cannot comfortably massage a portion of the leg, use the fingertips.

Once you have massaged the entire leg, you should be at your ankle. Ankles tend to swell throughout the day due to various triggers. This inflammation can slow the circulation to your feet, which is why you want to spend some extra massage time here. Massage both the inner and outer wrist in tiny circles.

Resting the back of your foot on the fingers of your hand, place your thumb on the sole. You will feel plenty of muscle in this area and will probably feel quite a bit of tension in these muscles. Massage tiny circles over each muscle, relieving the tension in them. If a muscle feels particularly tight, massage it until it begins to loosen. Once your palm muscles are fairly limber, you are ready to move to the toes.

Begin at the base of your pinky (smallest) toe with your massaging fingertips on the back and your massaging thumb on the palm side of the finger. Rub small circles with both your thumb and fingers at the same time; work from the base to the tip. Repeat this finger massage two times on each finger and on your thumb.

Turn your foot over and rub tiny circles around each nail, making sure to massage all the way around each nail.

Repeat the process on the other leg and foot, wiping excess oil from both legs and feet using the hand towel.

What Can I Do For My Acne?

Acne is the development of inflamed pores due to a buildup of oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria inside the pore. Many people struggle with large outbreaks that can be difficult to deal with both emotionally and physically. But this is the modern day; the 21st century. Medicine is constantly evolving and scientists are always trying to discover yet one more way to destroy a disease, or in this case, to make acne disappear and stay gone for as long as possible.

Getting acne to disappear is a large challenge. Not only do you have to kill the bacteria that have been reproducing too much, but you also must empty out the pore, get the pore to reduce its inflamed appearance, and a big trial is to try to manipulate hormones in an attempt to avoid acne entirely. Many treatments on the market provide multiple uses, but be wary of those that claim to finish off acne in a matter of days or a few weeks. It takes time to get your pores all cleared out and for bacteria to kick the bucket. It can take even longer to get your hormones back to a calmer state

You can use a combination of treatments to try and fight your acne, but you have to remember that stronger products or the use of multiple products can be a little harsher on your skin or have more possible side effects. You do not want to do any more damage to your skin than is necessary, so it would be a wise choice to check with your dermatologist before going overboard with your acne treatments.

There are several treatments you can use against your acne, so do your research and do what you can to find out what your skin will respond to best before going out and buying up an armload of products.

Exfoliation. While most skin types require exfoliation, exfoliating when you have acne requires products that are a little different. Usually salicylic acid or glycolic acid are ingredients found in the product, chemicals that encourage the removal of the top layer of skin to help avoid dead skin cells from becoming clogged in pores in the future. You can also go with traditional abrasive cloths or scrubs to help remove dead skin cells. The majority of these products can be found over the counter in your local drugstore.

Topical bactericidals. Products containing benzoyl peroxide can come as gels, creams, bar soaps, or cleansers, and are usually effective on mild to moderate acne. Regular application of gels or creams will be required, but the benefits are quite good. The benzoyl peroxide does two things for you; first it helps to dissolve agents that are clogging pores, and secondly, it aids in killing off the bacteria multiplying in the pore. You can buy products containing benzoyl peroxide ranging from 2 percent to 10 percent in strength. One thing to be wary of is that this particular ingredient can cause dryness in the skin, so unless it is recommended, use a low strength product to keep your skin balanced.

Topical antibiotics. Finding antibiotics like erythromycin, clindamycin, Stiemycin or tetracycline have a similar use like topical bactericidals. Applied directly to the skin, these help to kill off the bacteria multiplying in your pores. You can also take antibiotics orally, but those can contain side effects, and with topical antibiotics, you can focus on certain areas of your body that have acne problems.

Knowing what you can do to give your skin relief is half the battle. Try not to stress, and take your time in treating and understanding your particular problems with acne and the products available to treat it. In time, you should see some improvements.

High intensity cardio has the same effect. If you try doing 2 minutes slow and 1 minute fast on a cardio machine, you are doing what is called interval training. This is excellent for burning calories, raising your metabolism, and for losing fat to get those abs of steel!

Contact Dermatitis and Chlorine

Many people are unaware that they have “contact dermatitis”. Others are accumulating chemical exposure that will eventually cause it!

This allergic skin condition is identified by skin that is red, dry, itchy, scaly or blistered. It could also be covered with a pink or red rash. Contact dermatitis is caused by elements such as poison ivy/sumac/oak, formaldehyde, chlorine, or chemicals contained in grooming or beauty products.

Should the condition affect areas over the whole body, the irritant source may be soap or laundry detergent. If replacing these products does not result in improvement, the person may have developed a reaction to the chlorine found in water.

Since the treatment of contact dermatitis starts by eliminating the irritant, it’s necessary to remove chlorine from the water used for showers. This can be done in 3 ways: A carbon activated water filter can absorb chlorine, but does not work well with warm water. Most such filters have short lives, due to becoming clogged with contaminants. Another anti-chlorine agent used in shower filters is identified as “KDF”, or Kinetic Degradation Fluxion. This type of media relies on a metal alloy consisting of copper and zinc to reduce free chlorine. It works better with warmer temperatures, but water with weak pressure may not be able to pass through the KDF media, and the chlorine may not be thoroughly removed.

The third way is to utilize a shower filter which relies on ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) or sodium ascorbate. These natural agents neutralize chlorine, and being organic, are the safest way to dechlorinate water. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has declared this the least toxic method, and the medical community uses it in conjunction with dialysis treatments.

Aging would not be so bad if it did not tell on us at every encounter. As we hug one another, we register the love handles on the other’s waist, the flab on their arms and the sag on their cheeks. We stare into each other’s faces. After all, only saints find no pleasure in the wrinkles of their peers. We are not inexcusable sinners; we are checking to see how well we are holding up. Estimating someone’s age and deciding how well that person has aged tells us a lot. Looking and feeling younger than chronological age has increasingly becomes a yardstick of success. It is the ideal work of all the cells and organs functioning together in complete harmony to prevent the breakdown of the body. What makes us think we can think stop aging just by turning a switch in the body?

The signs of deterioration that we consider the signs of aging are the result of waste overload on the cellular level. When our actions are in opposition to nature, the results are different types of bodily ills, deformities, and ugliness. Eating denatured and devitalized food leaves residues the body cannot utilize, and they are deposited in places our Creator never intended. In fact, I’m pretty sure you already know how to lose weight. I’m betting you’ve lost some weight in the best. You may have gained it back, buy that’s not the point. You did lose weight before.

7 steps for weight loss success

Step 5: Eat four meals a day. The first meal coming within 40 minutes of waking. The last meal coming 2 hours or more before bedtime. You never want to eat right before bed. Do this and you will feel your waistline loosen very quickly.

Step 6: Understand the difference between weight loss success and weight loss failure is smaller than you realize. You only need to make small adjustments to reap huge results. Don’t go out and try to change the world. If you do, you may just wind up burnt out and with even more anxiety.

Step 7: Take a long-term perspective. The best way to lose 20 pounds is to begin where you are with these 7 steps, but to realize this isn’t just a commitment for now. If you want to keep the weight off, then repeat these steps time and time again.
