MEDICINE’S use and ABUSE

Friends, The study below done a few years ago should scare the socks
off us all. We can do much better in this country.

We all know that drugs has done much to save lives in this country,
but I would bet that only ONE out of TEN knows the other side of the
story concerning AMA aproved drugs USE and Abuse. Well I’ll tell you
in a minute.

A while back I was talking to an elderly lady explaining about the
efficacy of LIMU MOUI liquid. About all the studies (over 500) The
clinical trials, and the numerous testimonials that I collect from
people that suffer from various Illnesses. Pains, chronic diseases,
stroke, allergies, cancer, depression etc.

I told her about the study that I have shared with you all, how

I told her how AMA has decided that Americans need to supplement

her. Naturally , she was a mother of a friend and I care about her.

Now , she had been on 5 different kinds of medication for years. She
didn’t count DRUGS to be “BEING ON SOMETHING.”

Reccently she has been in the hospital to remove a cyst the size of a
grapefruit. I haven’t spoken to her since then.

I tell you this story because we have a lot of people that feel the

Incidence of adverse drug reactions in hospitalized patients: a meta-
analysis of prospective studies.

OBJECTIVE: To estimate the incidence of serious and fatal adverse
drug reactions (ADR) in hospital patients. DATA SOURCES: Four
electronic databases were searched from 1966 to 1996. STUDY
SELECTION: Of 153, we selected 39 prospective studies from US
hospitals. DATA EXTRACTION: Data extracted independently by 2
investigators were analyzed by a random-effects model. To obtain the
overall incidence of ADRs in hospitalized patients, we combined the
incidence of ADRs occurring while in the hospital plus the incidence
of ADRs causing admission to hospital. We excluded errors in drug
administration, noncompliance, overdose, drug abuse, therapeutic
failures, and possible ADRs. Serious ADRs were defined as those that
required hospitalization, were permanently disabling, or resulted in
death. DATA SYNTHESIS: The overall incidence of serious ADRs was 6.7%
(95% confidence interval [CI], 5.2%-8.2%) and of fatal ADRs was 0.32%
(95% CI, 0.23%-0.41%) of hospitalized patients. We estimated that in
1994 overall 2216000 (1721000-2711000) hospitalized patients had
serious ADRs and 106000 (76000-137000) had fatal ADRs, making these
reactions between the fourth and sixth leading cause of death.
CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of serious and fatal ADRs in US hospitals
was found to be extremely high. While our results must be viewed with
circumspection because of heterogeneity among studies and small
biases in the samples, these data nevertheless suggest that ADRs
represent an important clinical issue.

The herpes 1 virus, which is often abbreviated HSV-1, is the most common cause of oral herpes. According to the Conference of the American College of Physicians “we are talking about a plague of neurological diseases caused by this deadly poison.” There are over 5,000 products on the market that include Aspartame. I would hope that the company who manufactures it will take a serious look at the potential side effects on human beings.

According to Dr. Hohn’s newsletter from Germany, MONSANTO is the creator of Aspartame and they fund associations such as, the American Diabetes Association, the American Dietetic Association, and the Conference of the American College of Physicians, among others. I’m wondering if they are feeling a little guilty. This information has been detailed in the New York Times, but it hasn’t seemed to have a positive effect.

What a shame that the efforts of Senate bill presented by Senator Hetzenbaum that would have warned all infants, pregnant mothers and children of the dangers of aspartame was defeated by strong lobbyists. The bill would have also helped to start independent studies on the problems related to the population’s consumption of these products.
